Altaelva

Visit the third-longest river in Troms og Finnmark county. Beginning in the mountains and flowing out through the stunning Altafjord, this is a gorgeous sight to see and a must-visit for anyone travelling to the area!
The Altaelva, literally translating to "Alta River" in English, is a gorgeous body of pristine blue water flowing through Alta- the third-longest in the county. On its way from the high Finnmarksvidda plateau to the sea, its river chisels out Sautso, one of Europe's most giant gorges. The river is also known as one of the best rivers in Norway to find big sized salmon. All things put together; it is a beautiful place to visit in Norway.
